Women’s health grows at the clinic | Blogs

At Midtown Health Center, we are always looking for ways to provide affordable, quality care to our patients. Our women’s health services have continued to grow over the past 10 years, according to Mary Smith, APRN-NP.
Midtown Women’s Health includes health screenings, birth control, testing for sexually transmitted infections, visits regarding menopause and many other visits that women may need to seek treatment, according to Smith. Midtown also offered OB services.
“But we don’t have a supplier who could deliver,” Smith said. “So we normally transfer OB care to another provider midway through pregnancy.”
Now, Midtown is thrilled to partner with Midwest Health Partners and offer OB services for complete pregnancies. Jennifer Weinandt, APRN and Certified Nurse Midwife, will be available to see Midtown patients at the Phillip Avenue clinic on Tuesday mornings.
“I will do the delivery … seeing the patients (at the Midtown Clinic) assuming they remain low risk,” Weinandt said.
Any high-risk patient should see Dr. Keith Vrbicky at Midwest Health Partners to make sure everything is going well throughout the pregnancy.
Weinandt and Smith, along with the rest of the Midtown Women’s Health team, will work together to ensure patients receive the best care from early pregnancy until after birth. Patients who cannot see Weinandt on Tuesday mornings can still see Smith or Kassidy Horst, APRN, both of whom specialize in women’s health.
“I am thrilled to be able to extend our OB services to our patients and provide them with a true medical home,” said Smith.
Midtown Health Center’s DocTalk is a collaborative effort of Dr. Emily Vuchetich, Chief Medical Officer; Dr. David Seger, Chief Dental Officer; and Dr. Josh Turek, behavioral health manager, in addition to other Midtown providers.
