Watt Avenue has a pothole problem, business owners say

Watt Avenue has a pothole problem, according to several business owners along the popular stretch of road in Sacramento. It’s an ongoing problem, but with the clear weather on Saturday, one that remained apparent. “Even a little can damage the tire right away,” said Ahsan Nazar, owner of Xtreme Wheels & Tires. Xtreme Wheels and Tires is on Wat Rue. For Nazar, despite potholes attracting customers, he said that’s not how he wants to generate business. “We don’t want customers arriving frustrated.” Nazar said he sees customers almost every day who are having trouble with their vehicles due to road conditions on Watt. He said sometimes multiple people show up with damage on the same day from the same pothole. Waqar Malik has North Highland Tire Pros a short distance away. He said that in the 10 years he has been on Watt Avenue, he has seen little improvement in his condition. He said he sees temporary fixes being made, but ultimately the problem remains. “A lot of our consumers are no longer using Watt Avenue because of the potholes, which are slowly starting to affect our businesses. Our business is based on people walking by, seeing us, and stopping by,” Malik said. “It’s really frustrating but I don’t know who to talk to.”
