It’s still the start of 2023, and what better way to start than by getting your overall well-being checked. On Saturday, January 14, Walmart held its 9th annual Wellness Day, offering free health screenings at its pharmacies.
Since 2014, Walmart pharmacies have hosted Walmart Wellness Days, contributing to more than 5 million free health screenings for customers. More than 4,000 Walmart stores are in medically underserved areas, which means Walmart is often the first stop for health care in these rural, underserved communities.
Customers can receive free health checkups and affordable vaccinations at Walmart pharmacies nationwide. Some of the health screenings offered to customers today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. included cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure.
There were also affordable vaccinations available for flu, COVID, HPV, among others. However, there was no cost to receive the COVID vaccine. There were also opportunities to speak with Walmart pharmacists about maintaining general health and well-being.
