The Veterans Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) is a state-of-the-art mobile medical clinic that is available to assist local veterans seeking health care. MMU helped improve access to health care for veterans who may have previously struggled to receive the care they needed. The clinic can provide regular routine primary care, women’s health services, limited mental health and audiology services. Most primary appointments at the mobile clinic are by appointment only, but occasional appointments are available. Those seeking care in Port Isabel can visit the mobile clinic stationed at the Port Isabel Event & Cultural Center each week on Mondays.

To be seen by medical personnel, one must be a veteran registered with the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Healthcare System. Unregistered individuals can visit the team on board the MMU for assistance with registration or consult with a local Veterans Services agent for a registration request. Those filing a new application must have a DD 214 form to register.
