UMHB’s McLane College of Business held its first residency day on Saturday

BELTON, TX—The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB) hosted the first McLane College of Business Graduate Residency Day on Saturday, August 27 at the Lord Conference Center. The event began with the recognition of UMHB alumnus Joey Longoria as the first recipient of a Graduate Program Certificate for completing the Data Analytics Concentration.

Longoria graduated from UMHB in 2020 with a BS in Computer Science. While working on his undergraduate degree, he was a two-time NCAA DIII All-American, a Gagliardi Trophy semi-finalist, a two-time American Southwest Conference (ASC) Defensive Lineman of the Year, two-time All-ASC honored at Defensive Tackle, three-time Academic All-Conference and winner of the UMHB Loyalty Cup. Longoria then completed his Masters in Information Systems in 2022 with a concentration and professional certification in Data Analytics while serving as a graduate assistant coach for Cru Football. Longoria is currently employed by NASA as a reconnaissance specialist.

The event continued with a presentation by guest speaker Dave Malenfant, Executive Vice President of Industry Liaison and Talent Development for the BSMA (Biotech Supply Management Alliance). He is also a director and oversees the advisory board of the Center for Supply Chain Innovation at Texas Christian University. Prior to joining BSMA and TCU, Dave spent over 30 years in various industry roles at companies such as Alcon Laboratories where he was Vice President of Global Supply Chain.

UMHB’s McLane College of Business will hold its next Graduate Residence Day on Saturday, October 22, 2022.
