Former President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he had “SUCH RESPECT” for the New York grand jury – but he was singing a different tune just a day later after being indicted.

The grand jury voted Thursday to indict Trump. The charges likely relate to a silent payment of $130,000 to adult film actress Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

In a Truth Social article on Wednesday, before being indicted, Trump wrote, “I GOT SUCH RESPECT FOR THIS GRAND JURY, AND MAYB EVEN THE GRAND JURY SYSTEM AS A WHOLE.”

He wrote that the breakup was because “THE EVIDENCE IS SO OVERWHELMING” in his favor that “WHAT THE GRAND JURY SAYS, EXPECT.”

Trump posted this message after news broke that the grand jury may take a break from investigating the silent payments case.

The exact charges against Trump have yet to be revealed, but two sources told CNN that Trump is considering more than 30 charges related to business fraud. These low-level felony charges likely relate to Daniels’ 2016 election-eve payment. The indictment is still under seal.
