The Wheel at ICON Park reopens

Percentage of ticket proceeds will be donated to Florida hurricane relief efforts
WHEN: October 1, 2022
WHERE: ICON Park | 8375 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819
WHAT: The Wheel at ICON Park, Orlando’s welcome to the world, reopened after Hurricane Ian. Throughout the weekend, a percentage of ticket proceeds will be donated to Florida hurricane relief efforts.
As the tallest observation wheel on the east coast, the ICON Park wheel is built to withstand the elements. According to company protocol, the entertainment destination is closing The Wheel before tropical storm winds are expected to reach Orlando. The wheel is locked and then anchored from the outer rim beam with two cables anchored to the north and two cables anchored to the south. Prior to reopening, The Wheel undergoes a thorough inspection process by the entertainment destination’s technical team.
ICON Park knows there are many tourists who have been trapped in an I-Drive hotel room for days and others who are simply out of place, so it is offering free carousel tickets on the boardwalk throughout over the weekend to make up for lost time.
The entertainment destination has withstood numerous hurricanes since opening in 2015 and continues to stand strong for the community.
