Recently Dr Iasonas Triantis of the Center for Biomedical Engineering Research, Principal Investigator of the research project titled ‘SmartCare: HbA1c Self-Monitoring Technology’, received £150,000 in funding from the National Institute for Health Research (NiHR i4i Connect). City researchers Prof. Manolis Gavaises and Prof. Alfredo Pinelli have also received a Horizon Europe grant of around €616,000 to develop simulation methods and reduced-order models using computational methods. physics-based and data-driven machine learning and optimization.

The City Racing team continues to generate interest, offering engineering students the chance to compete in the biggest student motorsport event in the world – the Class 1 Formula Student. Students design and build a single-seater racing car, compete against 120 other teams and put their car through its paces at the famous Silverstone racing circuit.
