Sony’s latest smartphone-tablet hybrid unveiled through FCC certification with some key specs revealed
Sony has not introduced new smartphones in the market for quite some time. However, the company’s smartphones have always managed to appeal to various niche audiences with their terrific camera features, sleek design and pristine screens. While other smartphone brands are constantly introducing new devices with spectacular features, Sony Xperia is also planning a comeback in the industry with its new smartphones. We recently unveiled the first look of the Sony Xperia 10V smartphone.
Recently, a new Sony Smartphone-Tablet Hybrid was spotted on the FCC certification website with FCC id-PY7-12907W.
The database of the website revealed that the upcoming gadget is a phablet device, which refers to devices with a display diagonal dimension greater than 15cm or an overall diagonal dimension greater than 16cm.
Phablets are essentially smartphone-tablet hybrids that offer the portability and functionality of a smartphone combined with the dynamic, large-screen experience of a tablet. They typically feature screen sizes between 5 and 6 inches, with some including a stylus.
The listing further revealed that the device will come with a non-removable rechargeable battery and a non-removable back cover. Additionally, it will come with a 30W fast charger (model number XQZ-UC1) and headphones (model number MDR-EX15AP).
The database indicates that the upcoming Sony device will support NFC and 5G NR (FR1), specifically FDD band n5 and TDD band n41. Additionally, it will support USB Type-C charging.
Sony remained silent and did not provide any update regarding the launch of its new smartphone. However, it is expected that news about the release of a new Sony XPERIA device will be announced soon.
