Paeroa-based Agrisea is part of the Rere ki Uta, Rere ki Tai project, which received $2.7 million to research soil quality on 10 farms in Waikato and Bay of Plenty.
Chief Executive Clare Bradley said soil is the backbone of Aotearoa’s economy, from agriculture to forestry, and should be a priority.
Rather than beat up the elders for overusing fertilizer, she wants to show them alternatives.
“That’s what we try to do is to say that we have the opportunity as Aotearoa to help while providing the best food and we can do it in an environmentally friendly way. , which respects our people and can create value for money,” says Bradley.
