Spartans finish with a win

The Northside Middle School men’s tennis team won a 3-2 victory over Seymour on Tuesday to end the season 10-1.

Advait Aras was named the team’s MVP. The other winners were Vyom Desai (Mental Attitude), Sebastian Hartwell (Most Improved eighth grade), Hiram Tame (Mist Improved seventh grade), Shasha Sabapathy (Sportsmanship eighth grade) and Vitor Potenza (Sportsmanship seventh grade).

The winners for the Spartans were Sabapathy and Ricardo Prata in singles and doubles team Nico Moran Mendez/Chandan Munnaluri.

The Northside joint venture won 5-0. The winners were Cale Fitzsimmons in singles and the doubles teams Armando Duran-Blanc/Alex Zeng, Andrew Huang/Niranjan Pillai, Shun Nakano/Potenza and Mateo Rosales/Tame.

VOLLEYBALL

Panthers finish with wins

The Jennings County Middle School volleyball teams wrapped up their season Thursday with wins over Seymour.

The eighth graders won 25-11, 25-15 to finish 19-4. Ayah Belding led the Panthers with eight kills, four digs and five aces. Khylee Barlow and Etta Young each had two blocks.

The seventh graders beat the Owls 25-3, 25-12 to finish 22-1. Aniston Kent had eight kills and Kassidy Warren served six aces.

Jennings’ eighth graders were coming off a win at the JCMS tournament. The Panthers beat Madison 25-7, 25-6 and Brown County 25-5, 25-4. Lilly Franks had six digs and 12 aces, Belding had 14 kills and Young had two blocks.

The Panthers brush against the Rebels

The Jennings County College Boys beat Southwestern (Hanover) 3-2 on Thursday.

Jacob Ferguson, Carter Mickels and Jaxon Nelson all scored for the Panthers (4-5-2). Bryson Scroggin made four saves and Levi Whitesell added one.

Jennings was coming off a 1-1 draw with Benjamin Rush. Kaleb McIntosh scored the goal. Scroggin recorded six saves and Whitesell added three.

SOCCER

Spartans dominate Panthers

Northside posted a 28-6 win over Jennings County.

Ryan Clark scored a rushing touchdown for the Panthers.
