Nathalie Emmanuel loves “psychological thrillers” | Entertainment

Nathalie Emmanuel is “really crazy about psychological thrillers”.
The 33-year-old actress is a lifelong fan of the thriller genre, and Nathalie sees some of that in her new film, ‘The Invitation’.
The actress – who plays a struggling student artist in the Jessica M Thompson-directed film – told The Hollywood Reporter: “I really like psychological thrillers, ones that keep you guessing and aim to create suspense. I love this kind of style.
“I actually think we have a big element of that in this movie. Evie feels so much like there’s something going on, but she’s not quite sure what.
“As a viewer, you can’t help but try to figure out what’s going on and where the threat is coming from. And sometimes you get it wrong, but it happens when you least expect it. I appreciate so this style of storytelling, but who doesn’t also like a bit of gore and bloody stuff?”
Earlier this month Nathalie revealed she had always been “looking forward” to starring in a horror film.
The actress stars in ‘The Invitation,’ and Nathalie admitted it’s something she’s wanted to do for years.
She said, “I’ve always been very interested in trying my hand at all kinds of genres. It was something I had never done before and I was so keen to try.”
The film was shot in Budapest and Nathalie admits to having found the experience exhausting.
She shared: “I mean, practically, playing pure terror and trauma is very, very tiring. It’s a useful feeling though, because even if you feel like there’s nothing left, you you have to keep moving forward. And that’s true when you’re a character trying to survive a horror!”
