Topics such as minimum lot sizes, adult entertainment areas, rezonings and temporary trailers will be discussed at the Stanly County Planning Board’s June meeting.

The planning board, which will meet at 6:30 p.m. on June 12 in the Gene McIntyre Meeting Room at Stanly Commons, will discuss a text amendment regarding minimum lot sizes in the residential/agricultural (R/A) neighborhood.

The proposed amendment would require parcels in the R/A to be no less than 40,000 square feet where water and sewer are not available. The amendment would set a minimum of 30,000 square feet for lots where water and sewer were available.

Lots in the R10 and R20 districts would also be limited to minimums of 15,000 and 20,000 square feet, respectively.

A conservation subdivision proposal and lot size discussions are also on the meeting agenda.

Another amendment to the text would allow caravans to be used temporarily on construction sites of a person’s main residence.

Another amendment to the text will further define where an adult establishment and live adult entertainment could take place in accordance with the zoning ordinance.

A rezoning before the planning board is an application by Burleson Development to rezone a 28-lot subdivision at 20239 Running Creek Church Road in Locust.
