Erik ten Hag hopes to sign up to four players before the transfer window closes after Manchester United have reached an agreement to sign Ajax winger Antony.

Antony, 22, looks set to get his wish to move to Old Trafford after multiple reports emerged of an £84million fee agreed with Ajax on Sunday afternoon.

The Brazilian had been a priority target for Ten Hag since joining the club earlier this summer, but United spent much of their energy on a fruitless pursuit of Frenkie de Jong.

However, Antony took matters into his own hands over the weekend by essentially going on strike in the Dutch capital and Ajax gave in to his demands by accepting a record fee for an Eredivisie player.

But United’s work is far from done this summer and the Telegraph say Ten Hag wants to sign three more players once Antony walks through the door.

Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka has submitted a transfer request in a bid to secure his transfer to Old Trafford, but their distance remains between the two clubs over the nature of the deal.

A right-back and another central midfielder are the other two main priorities, but Ten Hag is open to signing another striker instead of a midfielder, depending on who is available.

Dortmund defender Thomas Meunier has been linked with a move to Old Trafford and the Belgian is known to be a lifelong United fan.

The 30-year-old would compete with Diogo Dalot, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka available for transfer.

A midfielder may be harder to come by, although United had initial talks with Lazio for Sergej Milinković-Savić.

The Serb has long been linked with a move to the Theater of Dreams but is valued at around £50million by the Serie A club.
