DC on TV, Animated Favorites, Horror on 4K and More

At GVN, our goal is to keep you up to date with the latest and greatest in home entertainment week after week. For the week of August 22, we have some amazing releases hitting our shelves. Read on for the full rundown of what you should have on your wishlist, and take the opportunity to find out what Michael and I are highlighting. The video attic this week.

This week marks the arrival of several highly anticipated new releases and catalog releases across all genres. First, we have an understated CC small screen entrance with the recently canceled Noemie: The complete series on Blu-Ray from Warner Bros. This show co-created by Ava DuVernay never received support from the other Arrowverse shows on The CW, but it’s worth checking out if you want a fun twist on Superman’s story.

If you want something to tap into the nostalgic area of ​​your brain, we’ve got two beloved movies that should do the trick. First, Shout! Factory worked to bring the animated family favorite FernGully: The Last Rainforest to Blu-Ray for its 30th Anniversary Newly Remastered in 4K from its original materials. If you want something a little more adult, just go back five years to the release of dirty dancewhich celebrates its 35th anniversary Lions Gate with a new 4K UHD Blu-Ray release in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos audio plus a ton of special new archive features. You’ll have the best time of your life with either version!

Elsewhere in the land of catalog releases, we have two highly anticipated titles making their 4K UHD Blu-Ray debut from scream plant. First, we have the Neil Marshall werewolf tale dog soldiers debuts in 4K UHD in Dolby Vision with a ton of special features fans will love. We also have supernatural horror feature cat people crazy Paul Schrader debuts the format with a 4K scan of the original camera negative in Dolby Vision as well as a nice array of legacy special features.
