​Friday’s Barbershop celebrates its 5th anniversary

Friday’s Barbershop at 509 N. Cleveland Ave. in downtown Loveland will celebrate its fifth anniversary of operation on April 3.

It’s a happy occasion for the company which celebrated its second anniversary during the pandemic shutdown in April 2020, when only essential businesses were allowed to open.

Co-owner Shawn Woodrum said the business “barely survived COVID with everyone cutting their hair, but we survived.”

He said he and store co-owner Allie Greggs, along with Gidget the store dog, were still working to get the barbershop back to the record month it had before the pandemic began.

The shop specializes in haircuts and beard trimming for men, and also offers facial waxing and hair coloring.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The Days Roll By bicycle shop celebrates its 15th anniversary

Days Roll By will celebrate its 15th anniversary with a Customer Appreciation Sale in April.

The refurbished bike and bike parts store is located at 285 E. 29th St. in the Orchards Mall.

The store is offering 15% off the cost of refurbished bikes to say “thank you” to customers, according to a press release.

According to the release, the store upcycles, recycles, restores and reuses bicycle components to rebuild modern and vintage bikes, and in doing so has saved thousands of bikes from landfill.

The staff also repairs and adjusts most brands of bicycles.

The store recently started offering e-bikes at the request of customers. It is now the Front Range transporter from Mokwheel.

The store is open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Thursday to Saturday.

​Human Bean donates to Meals on Wheels; plans an upcoming food drive

Human Bean Northern Colorado dedicated its Guest Barista Day on March 9 to raising funds for Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud. Ten percent of all sales made at 6180 E. Crossroads Blvd. location in Loveland were donated, which gave $384.81 to the non-profit organization.

Meals on Wheels representatives served as guest baristas to support the effort and share information about the organization with customers.

Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Burgdorf seeks to nurture and enrich the lives of homebound seniors and people with disabilities in our communities with nutritious meals and daily contact by volunteers, according to a press release. Human Bean Northern Colorado has been locally owned and operated since 2004, and now has 10 locations across Northern Colorado and a mobile coffee truck.

Human Bean Northern Colorado is now encouraging the community to clean out their food pantries by donating all unopened and unexpired items to those in need.

All Human Bean locations in northern Colorado will be accepting donations April 16-30, and customers who donate five or more items will receive a free 20-ounce drink on the Human Bean app.

Donations will be distributed between Fort Collins Rescue Mission and Weld Food Bank. Most needed items include canned beans, canned meats, canned soups, canned fruits, canned vegetables, canned tomatoes, dried beans, grains, nut butters, cereals , pasta, applesauce, quinoa, honey, broths, oats, jelly and protein bars.
