Burnley close to securing final signing of the summer

Burnley are close to signing Jordan Beyer from Borussia Mönchengladbach.
According to reports from Florian Plettenberg and Patrick Berger, the 22-year-old traveled to the UK to undergo his medical before signing for Vincent Kompany’s side.
The defender will be the 15th addition to the Championship club’s squad this summer, with the Belgium manager overhauling the squad that was relegated under Sean Dyche last season.
Beyer will arrive at Turf Moor on an initial loan, but it remains unclear whether Burnley have the option of making the deal permanent at the end of the season.
Beyer is yet to feature for the Bundesliga side this season but made 17 league appearances last year as the team secured a 10th place finish in the German top flight.

The defender previously spent a loan spell with SV Hamburg in the 2. Bundesliga but found opportunities hard to come by at Gladbach.
A move to Burnley will bolster the team’s defensive options, with Kompany still looking to complete a number of deals before the 11pm transfer deadline tonight.
The verdict
Beyer is an exciting talent who could fit well into Kompany’s squad.
A lot of defensive strength was added this summer, but it was needed following the departures of Nathan Collins, Ben Mee and James Tarkowski.
It’s been a good start to life at Turf Moor for the former Manchester City defender, with the side picking up 12 points from their opening seven league games.
Attention will now turn to improving performance and results, with the transfer window set to finally close tonight.
